1. Mein Fazit: "Close enough for Rock'n'Roll" ist das bis dato schwächste Album der Band, den guten Weg des Vorgängers, haben sie damit leider verlassen. Bis auf wenige Ausnahmen sind die Songs langweilig und flach, zu sehr auf den US-Markt zugeschnitten - schade - und folgerichtig auch ein Flop!/5(65).

5. It's also the track that the album title comes from ("Check guitars before you go/Close enough for rock n roll"). Manny Charlton's guitar playing on his track is amazing, particularly during the instrumental bridge following the So You Wanna Be A Rock N Roll Star quote/5(49).

6. Ich weiß nicht, ob es am Erfolg lag, den NAZARETH mit "Hair of the Dog" in den USA hatten, aber mit "Close enough for Rock'n'Roll" wurden die Schotten wieder ganz handzahm. Die Härte des Vorgängers wurde stellenweise gefälligem Mainstream-Rock geopfert, da war dann doch bei vielen, mich eingeschlossen, die Enttäuschung sehr groß/5(60).

But not only that, they also cut the picture, just compare the faces behind the car with the original edition or any other later reissues of those years.
